Reflecting Tree, Amherst MA, October 2009
Three different mirrors were hung from a tree at approximately 15, 30, and 45 feet in the air. The mirrors were arranged so that the viewer lying on the ground could see their face reflected in a mirror at the top of the tree, their torso reflected at the middle height of the tree, and their feet/legs reflected more towards the base of the tree. The hope was for the viewer to feel some sense of inhabiting and interacting with the whole of the tree as their image reflected throughout it.
