Breathing Together, Amherst MA, December 2009
Participants lied down next to each other and had rocks placed on their chests. Participant 1 would see participant 2's face reflected in both mirrors above her/his face and vice versa. The intention was for the participant to be surrounded by the image of the other's face while simultaneously being very conscious of her/his breath and perhaps slightly struggling to breathe. The hope was that the participants would connect in a unique way through their common breath and struggle while being visually immersed in each other's reflected faces.
